Safety Needles
The safety needle allows for the feel that you are used to when cannulating without the intrusion of the protector guard, as it can be moved down the tubing out of the way during the cannulation process. When needed, the protector guard can be activated with a smooth one handed technique to protect the cannulator from needle stick injury.

Background to EU Directive
Health and Safety (Sharps Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013 These Regulations implement the EU Council Directive 2010/32/EU on the prevention of sharps injuries in the hospital and healthcare sector. Many of the requirements contained in the Directive already formed part of the health and safety law in Great Britain.
